Stringing Along
First, I must say, until it is under your hands, the Salzedo Variations takes FOREVER to play through. It also gives you an idea of what I put my harp's strings through on a regular basis. Add to that the fact that I have been harping a lot due to being inspired by the pictures and videos from the World Harp Congress and other such events.
The patch test is going nicely. All of the strings are holding tune well right now, and if I did not tell you there was a patch test happening you would not notice. I have started to notice roughness on two of the strings. The Vanderbilt Natural Gut 2nd Octave B and the Premier Gut 3rd Octave D are both getting rough at places they are played the most. You cannot see it, but you can feel it. I will keep blogging about the wear as it happens.
