Patch Test + Heat and Chords

We recently experienced a heat wave in the great Pacific Northwest. My harp was in an inner room and not in direct light, but there is no a/c in the house. It was too hot for much comfortable practice for a couple days. I decided this was an excellent time to see how the tuning held in the harp string patch test. The winner for staying in tune while the house was warm? The Pirastro Nycor string. The Fluorocarbon strings were quite reactive to the heat and went furthest out of tune. Next in line for out of tune was the Premier gut. The other guts fell somewhere in the middle.

I have also taken a moment to put another chord practice chart together. So, tune up those harp, put your pedals in natural and set the ol' metronome. Have at it! and have fun!
