Busy times, dying strings

I know that it has been a long time since I have updated on my blog or website or anything. These have been busy times for me, dear followers! Mostly good and great news

but first the bad news from the Harp String Patch Test. I have played my harp in a variety of performances. My harp and strings have survived the following: Two trips into the forest for a wedding by a stream; Learning, rehearsing, and performing a brand new opera with an extensive harp part; and last but certainly not least, a slam of rehearsals and two performances of Ravel's Tzigane and Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances. During the rehearsal for the Opera the Premier Gut string started to have a very hi pitched buzz, then it started to fray. I am watching it slowly die. So, the Premier Strings do not last long! Not at all! Every one of the other strings that I have on my harp, including ones that are older than the patch test, have held up and weathered the work with very little variation.

Now on to great News!

I have joined the Faculty of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon! I am so excited about this! It is such an exciting program to be a part of it. Check it out at www.willamette.edu.
